POSITION: REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE
Inpatient Mental Health
Primary site: Stratford
Regular Part-time
(Shifts: 12-hour shifts, Days and Nights, 7 day/week coverage, may be subject to change)

REPORTS TO: Manager Inpatient Mental Health and Stratford Emergency

DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible

SALARY: $29.39 to $31.17 per hour

REQUIREMENTS:
- Current Registration and Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Certificate in all nursing skills required by the Department of Nursing in the assigned unit
- Medication Administration

EXPEREINCE:
- Minimum of two (2) years psychiatric nursing experience preferred
- Demonstrated skill at handling suicidal and aggressive, potentially volatile situations
- IV drug administration
- Insertion of Gastric tubes
- Flushing of PRN adaptors
- Subcutaneous portal insertion and drug administration

ABILITIES:
- Good communication skills
- Ability to plan, organize and problem solve
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing continuing education
- Able to meet the physical demands of the position
- Working knowledge of Meditech Information System and personal computer applications
